Lilit Ghazaryan is a linguistic anthropologist specializing in ethnographic research, interviewing, language, and education. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is a researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, as well as a lecturer at the American University of Armenia.
Her research draws on long-term ethnographic fieldwork, oral and person-centered interviews, participant observation, and audio-video documentation to examine how people narrate and make sense of social and political change. Her current work explores education, language, war, memory, and migration in contemporary Armenia, with particular attention to personal narratives and the ways broader historical events are experienced and interpreted in everyday life.
Ghazaryan has also taught research methodology to graduate students, including courses on research design, ethnographic observation, and person-centered interviewing.
